Staff Solutions Architect at VMware

Raman Veeramraju has over seventeen years of experience in planning, architecture design, implementation, support, training, and resource management on various Information Technology Systems, LAN/WAN, Virtualization, Network, Security and Cloud Computing systems. He is a co-author of the book “Cloud Computing with VMware vCloud Director” released in April, 2011 via USENIX and also available on Amazon.

He is currently working as a Staff Solutions Architect at VMware’s Global Technology Solutions group. In this role he is responsible to lead the IP creation of VMware Cloud Infrastructure and Management solutions and services by collaborating with business units, engineering, marketing, professional services, sales, alliances and partner engineering organizations.

In 2011-2012 he worked as Practice Executive at Dell, where he was responsible to lead the IP creation and field enablement of Dell, VMware and other virtualization/cloud computing solutions and he also helped fortune 10 companies choose, design and deploy world-class security and cloud solutions.

Prior to that he worked as Worldwide vCloud Consulting Architect at VMware where he worked mainly to provide technical thought leadership on VMware’s Cloud direction to the industry and deliver the technical direction in architecting and designing VMware vCloud Director and other cloud solutions for the Service Providers and Enterprise A-list customers. He was also responsible for developing IP and documenting the best practices in developing and deploying VMware cloud solutions and feed them into VMware’s Knowledgebase. In this role, he designed and implemented the first 2 VMware vCloud Director Public clouds in the world.

Raman was a professional singer (Indian Music) and worked with several top notch Musical Troops in Chennai, India, but currently singing to scare away the birds in his backyard.
